Now That's Progress

An Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) official proudly reported the arrest of 183 illegal immigrants in Florida last week. That’s 183 out of an estimated 11,000,000.

So, that only leaves 10,999,817 to go.

All Things Considered...

Police shot and killed a man in an illegal immigration raid. The victim, Robert Lugo, was a construction worker whose dark skin and work clothes led the police to suspect that he was an illegal immigrant. The police regularly conduct raids in that particular town, and often abuse the illegals before releasing them without charges, local residents reported to the Associated Press.

Carlos Lopez, 28, an illegal immigrant is quoted as saying: "If you're carrying any money, they take it from you; federal, local police, all of them." Jose Ramos, 18, also an illegal, agreed, stating, "If you're on a bus, they pull you off and search your pockets and if you have any money, they keep it and say 'Get out of here.'"

Outrageous, isn’t it?

But the incident is true. It was reported by WorldNetDaily. Robert Lugo was mistaken as a Central American. The police who shot and killed him are the Mexican police. He was shot in the Mexican town of Tultitlan, which is located on the outskirts of Mexico City.

The story also reported that the United Nations human rights commissioner said recently that Mexico "is one of the countries where illegal immigrants are highly vulnerable to human rights violations and become victims of degrading sexual exploitation and slavery-like practices, and are denied access to education and health care."

Larry Elder of WorldNetDaily said that Mexico militarized its border and deported 203,128 illegal immigrants in 2004.

Gee, maybe the United States should ask Mexico for advice on militarizing our border and deportation of illegals.

Just a thought.

Social Darwinism Gone Wrong

An Associated Press news story reported that a man in Pennsylvania killed his girlfriend because she refused to heat up some sandwiches. Read the story here.

Incredible.

Thank You Governor Owens

Colorado Governor Bill Owens vetoed Colorado House Bill 1212 that would have allowed
pharmacists to prescribe emergency contraception without a physician's prescription.
The bill would have also allowed minors to obtain emergency contraception without the
involvement of a physician, parent or guardian.

Another flaw in the bill would not have provided a safeguard for the right of pharmacists
to refuse to dispense the drug for any reason. The proponents of the bill opposed
amendments prohibiting employers from firing or disciplining pharmacists for refusing to
dispense emergency contraception.

Welfare State Armed & Dangerous

The terrorist organizations Islamic Jihad and al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, both claimed responsibility for a homicide / suicide bombing that killed at least 7 people and wounded at least 49 others, in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. The Associated Press story also reported that a security guard posted outside stopped the bomber from entering the targeted building.

The Drudge Report is reporting that Sami Abu Zuhri, a spokesman for the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, said the attack was “part of the Palestinians' right of self-defense.”

The Hamas spokesman also said: "The occupation seized money of the Palestinian people and urged the world not to assist the Palestinians, so this attack took place before those who agree with this aggressive attitude." (emphasis added)

So, Hamas has justified the killing and maiming of innocent people because civilized nations refuse to finance their uncivilized government

Hmm, so the Palestinian state is a welfare state, and a well armed one at that.

Liberal Fascism, Again

Northern Right To Life members - (from left) Ryan Jones, Nicole Smithson, Julie Broering and Katie Walker - stand next to crosses they erected to protest abortion. Vandals removed and scattered the crosses Wednesday. The group planned to guard the display overnight.

Dr. Sally Jacobsen, a tenured professor at Northern Kentucky University (NKU), destroyed a display of small white crosses on Wednesday April 12, 2006. The display was erected by Northern Right to Life, a pro-life group at NKU on April 9, 2006.

According to her web page, Jacobsen is a professor of English in the Department of Literature and Language at Northern Kentucky University. She is also the Interim Director of Women's Studies.

Jacobsen admitted she recruited approximately 9 graduate students to destroy the display. "I did, outside of class during the break, invite students to express their freedom-of-speech rights to destroy the display if they wished to," Jacobsen said.

How kind and generous Jacobsen is. She freely invites graduate students to stupidly stomp on the freedom of expression rights of other students simply because she was “infuriated” by the display.

I suppose this is just another example of liberals displaying their fascist nature.

If you would like to contact Jacobsen or the Women’s studies department, or the university itself, their contact information is listed below.

Mexican Militancy and Border Guardians

This
photo (from Michelle Malkin) shows a flyer that was found on the ground at a Dallas pro-illegals rally. Interestingly, the flyer shows a map of Texas and Mexico. So it would appear that the pro-illegal lobby is advocating voter fraud as well as illegal immigration.

Meanwhile in Tucson, Arizona, KVOA News 4
reports that pro-illegal immigration protesters confronted anti-illegal immigration protesters in front of the Mexican Consulate in Tucson. The station reports that a Mexican flag was burned by an anti-illegal immigration group called Border Guardians. This is a group that speaks out against and speaks to the issue of the thousands of illegals that cross the border at the Tucson sector.

The Director of Border Guardians, Laine Lawless, reportedly said: "(This protest) is against the Mexican government and the Mexicans that are illegally present in the United States right now, “I want the American people to know that we're going to stand up for them."

It’s interesting to me how the pro-illegal side think they can act as militant as they want, and it should be okay with everyday Americans. They want to fly their Mexican flags and impose their language and culture onto Americans, but when Americans choose not to celebrate their differences, we’re labeled racist, xenophobic, and other derogatory labels. When we choose to oppose open borders, again, we’re labeled racist.

Of course, the militancy, and disrespectful disregard towards American immigration law is simply mexitude, defined as
Mex-i-tude: The de facto control of social and political policy by illegal aliens.
Mexitude was first coined by the
Freedom Folks blog.

Oh, The Irony

The Eiffel Tower was shut down, air and rail travel interrupted and tied up. Students barricaded themselves in schools in protest of a law which would make it easier to fire young workers. The widespread rioting has sent the French nation into crisis mode. There have been demonstrations for two months against the law, but the President of France, Jacques Chirac, signed it anyway on Sunday.

The rioting has alarmed foreign businesses, as the Irish airline, such as Ryanair, who canceled all its flights in and out of France.

When you think about how America and Americans are viewed by Europeans in general and the French in particular, they think of us as a bunch of unruly cowboys, this civil upheaval is pretty ironic, isn’t it?
